FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME is a Catholic Religious Order, founded by Most Reverend Bishop Jean Marie. It consists of Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Religious Brothers and Sisters - usually called the Servants of Notre Dame - and members of the Third Order.
The Bishops of FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME hold their Apostolic succession from Most Reverend Pierre Martin Ngo Dinh Thuc, former Archbishop of Hue in Vietnam, a Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church who himself received the Episcopal consecration from Most Reverend Bishop Antonio Drapier, under a special mandate from His Holiness Pope Pius XI.
Our Congregation is waiting patiently the time when Peter will confirm her in the faith.
FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME's aim is to maintain and promote the Faith, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.
Our faith is based on Holy Scripture, the Nicene Creed, and the Creed made explicit more recently by Pope Paul VI.
FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME recognizes the same Councils as the Roman Catholic Church, from the one of Jerusalem to the one of Vatican II included, even though it deplores certain abusive interpretations of the latter.
FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME acknowledges all the dogmas defined by the Roman Catholic Church.
Regarding her Liturgy,
Fraternite Notre Dame makes it her duty to:
Maintain the celebration of the Mass in the Tridentine Rite, with some adaptations for different rubrics, such as it has been celebrated since the founding of our Congregation by the Founder, after the example of certain Eastern communities that keep the celebration of the Holy Mysteries in a proper and secular rite;
Celebrate, in conformity with the desire of the Church, the Divine Office several times a day, in public or in private.
Testify to her faith in the real presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, by performing the Eucharistic adoration several times a week.
Sincerely seek Catholic unity, and work as well for the unity of Christianity.
FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME stands out by her great love towards the Blessed Virgin Mary, which she expresses through her faith, her liturgy, her communal life and her missionary action.
FRATERNITE NOTRE DAME has an immense concern for Evangelization, always going to those who suffer the most, in their hearts as well as in their bodies, either rich or poor, sick or in good health, righteous or sinners, prisoners or freemen, with no distinction of race, sex, class or creed.
Her desire is to bring the Good News to all peoples in a missionary spirit of love, peace, unity, tolerance, joy and simplicity.
