Americares is this well-known disaster relief
and humanitarian aid Organization that provides medicine, emergency
medical supplies and other relief aid to those in need throughout
the world. This year, the annual Celebration of Hope Gala has been
the occasion of a magnificent reception at the United Nations in
New York.
Our partnership with Americares started in 1994, when Fraternite
Notre Dame sent 3 of its members to work with them in Rwanda
for refugees, the sick and homeless.
On this
May 18th, 2004, Americares honored its International Program Partners
from around the World, and Most Reverend Bishop Jean Marie Roger
Kozik, being among the Honorees, received the International Program
Partners Award for the services of Fraternite Notre Dame in
Mongolia.
Harry
Smith with CBS, Ann Curry with NBC and many other guests from
all over the world were very pleased to meet our dear Father Founder.
Several of them had the opportunity to set up some plans with him
for new projects in different countries.
Mr.
Robert C. Macauley founded Americares 22 years ago: the first
relief mission, in Poland, took place in 1982. Since that day, Americares
has extended its humanitarian aid to 137 countries and partnered with
49 organizations in 41 countries to deliver critical medicine, medical
equipment and relief supplies.
God
bless Americares, its Founder, its President, and all its members
and volunteers; and may God bless all our benefactors. We keep
them in our prayers daily.
